Georgia Pine

I saw a picture similar to this somewhere in the internet and, since I have some of these in my backyard, decided to give it a try. I like the angle of this picture, but it doesn't do any justice to how tall those trees really are.

Random Pictures Day

These are a few pictures that I'm happy with (for now). This one I took 2 nights ago, and at the time I didn't like it. Today I looked at it again and for some reason I really like it. It was taken in my front yard really late at night. The brightness at the bottom comes from my porch light which is not in the picture at all, but since the shutter was open for so long it created this effect. The little white lines are stars, moving... once again because of the SS.

This one I took earlier. Nothing interesting about it... just a really shallow DOF and my candle holder with no candles.

Last one today. This was taken out my baby girl's bedroom window. Lookong at it now, I wish I had cropped it differently, but oh well.

Bad Day for Pictures

Today I woke up and my internet was down... OH, NO! I spent a lot of time wondering what to take pictures of. I tried to take pictures of my baby... she was more than unwilling today, so needless to say... those pictures were horrible. I looked around... day light is going away and I still haven't taken a picture... So I snapped a shot from my backyard. Not even close to good, but my picture for today.

Fallen Heroes

Today I went to a memorial to soldiers of the 3rd ID who have lost their lives during Operation Iraqi Freedom. On this post, they get a tree planted with their name on it, and people come leave them little items in remembrance. If you ask me, there are way too many trees.

First one, I think there's 2 1/2 sidewalks with trees... this is half of one

Second one. I kind of liked the DOF on this one.

Last one, a picture of the things people leave at the feet of the trees.

Such a Pretty Face

It's only the 9th of January and I'm already having a hard time wondering what to take pictures of. My baby girl is always on the run and it's nearly impossible to stop her, let alone get eye contact. I think that's why I loved this one so much. It's not technically great but having her look at me is such a challenge, I'll take anything I get.

The Pond, Again

I went back to the pond from the January 6th picture. There's this spot that I had really liked that day, but people were using it to fish, so I shot in a different angle. I went back today and the place was completely deserted. I couldn't pick one, so I'm posting two! First one is my husband, he's pushing a stroller but can't really tell. Second one is just the pond.

A Challenge? Sure, I'll take it!

I, as you can read if you look to your left, am a photographer wannabe. So I took the challenge. I'm supposed to take a picture everyday of 2007 and post it here. Why? Well, first of all, It's great practice. Second, I can look back at the end of the year and (hopefully) see how much I've improved... and third, my camera never leaves my side, so... why not?

I started LATE. We were supposed to start on the 1st of the year. I don't have pictures of the 1st 3 days... but I'll post now from the 4th on.

January 7th...Sweet dreams, my child.

These were both taken today, but different times. The 1st one was mid afternoon nap, today. The second one was early morning... too early, still dark outside.

January 6th... Natural Beauty

A nearby pond. I intended to take the picture FROM the little pier but as I approached it, it had a sign indicating it was unsafe... so I took a picture OF it instead.

January 5th... Regalos de Reyes

I'm Puerto Rican, so I celebrate "Three Kings Day". These were my baby's presents waiting for her to wake up. I think the camel's snack (little box with grass) made it into the picture too.

January 4th... My Soldier

My husband had a formal event this day. Here he is dressed up in his Dress Greens.
